Enrollment Documents

The following documents are to be completed when a cadet is joining. The mandatory forms are identified. Only fill out the optional forms if the cadet fits the description for each form. Please download the documents, fill in the information, and print off prior to arriving at Mewata Armouries.

1. Cadet Application formRequired – This is the basic information form that is required to join the Royal Canadian Army Cadet program. For the Unit Name, select “2137 Calgary Highlanders Cadet Corps” from the drop-down list. Enter your email address and then click on the “Start new application” button. You will receive an email titled “Cadet Registration – email validation“. Follow the link in the email to continue the application process. We will be notified when you submit your application and will follow-up with an email with additional instructions.
2. Cadet Code of ConductRequired – The National Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Support Group (Natl CJCR Sp Gp) is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment where employees such as Cadet Instructor Cadre officers (CIC officers) or volunteers, adults, cadets can develop to their maximum potential. While every cadet is valued and unique, we come together as an organization in the best interests of the ones we support. The safety, respect, rights, and well-being of the cadets/JCRs we support are at the core of our daily operations.
3. Inspection ConsentRequired – At different moments during the training or activity, the cadet may be subjected to an inspection of his/her sleeping accommodations, luggage, kit, equipment, locker(s) or storage area(s).
4. How to measure your Cadet for a uniform at home – This will provide directions on how to measure your cadet for a uniform. We will have measuring kits for pickup shortly.
5. Uniform order form – Please fill this form out with the measurements of the cadet. This will be used to order uniform parts for the cadets.

You will also need to show us the following ORIGINAL two pieces of ID:

  • Proof of Citizenship, which can be any of the following;
    • A valid Canadian passport
    • A birth certificate issued by any Canadian provincial, territorial, or federal government agency.
    • Any card, visa, or permit (for example, for work, study, or residency) that has a photo of you, and was issued by the Canadian government.
    • Any identification card (with or without photo) issued by a provincial, territorial, or federal government agency.
  • Proof of health insurance, such as provincial health insurance card (your Alberta Health Card) or private insurance (such as Blue Cross).
