Why Donate?
The Army Cadet program is free to join, however, it is not free to run. It is a federally sponsored program between the Department of National Defence, the Army Cadet League of Canada (ACLC), and our local sponsor, the Royal Canadian Kensington Legion, Branch 264.
The basic Army Cadet uniform and some supplies are provided by DND. However, as we are affiliated with a Highland Regiment, our corps is also allowed to wear Highland kit and to have a Pipes and Drums Band. In addition to a unique uniform, our corps also supplements the mandatory training program with additional weekend field training exercises, first aid, Pipes and Drums training, team expenses, activities, additional accommodation and transportation for the program that DND does not provide. The annual operating budget maintains a high standard of programming at no/very little cost to cadets. The ACLC, our local Legion sponsor, along with our Corps Support Committee (made up of amazing parents and interested community members like you!) develop fundraising campaigns to supplement the mandatory training of the cadet program and allow us to put on an incredible and enriched learning experience for your cadets!
If you are able to donate, your support will go towards helping us meet our annual fundraising goal. You will also receive a charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes. The minimum amount for a donation to qualify for an Income Tax Receipt is $20.00. Cheques can be sent directly to the corps. Please make the cheque out to “Army Cadet League of Canada – Alberta Branch”. Please indicate on the cheque that the donation is to be directed to “2137 Calgary Highlanders Army Cadet Corps” and mail to:
